Trimino: Arithmetic up to 100

Description

In the math resource, there are a total of 60 different triminos (triomino puzzles) on the topic Arithmetic up to 100 arranged as follows:

• 30 triminos in a triangular shape consisting of 9 pieces,
• 30 triminos in a star shape consisting of 12 pieces,
• black-and-white versions of all 60 triminos to save ink,
• an answer key for all sets of triminos.

Intended Audience

This document is intended primarily for:

• teachers in classroom instruction,
• tutors,
• students for practice.

Usage of the Resource

Class activity portion, review, homework.

How to Work with the Resource

Print the sheets A4 or A3 size ({Letter} or {Tabloid}). Each student or group of students will receive a sheet with one type of trimino puzzle from the resource, which they cut into individual pieces, shuffle, and then assemble into either a star or a triangle. The number of available trimino puzzles allows you to:

• distribute the same trimino to each student and repeat the activity in another lesson,
• distribute a different trimino to each student,
• distribute identical or varied trimino to different groups.

Answer Key

After assembling the trimino, check the result using the answer key at the end of the document. The key shows the correctly assembled trimino. Because the pieces on the students’ sheets are shuffled randomly, they may not always assemble it correctly without reference.
